Despatch General Worker

Under supervision, the General Workers may assist with moving, positioning, and loading
finished steel drums onto trucks in line with plant procedures and loading instructions. This may
include helping prepare loading areas, checking that the correct products are selected,
supporting safe stacking or placement, and ensuring loads are handled carefully to avoid
damage. The candidates must follow all instructions from supervisors and comply with plant safety
rules at all times during loading activities.
A key part of the role is supporting last-minute visual quality checks before products are
dispatched. The intern may be required to observe steel drums for visible dents, scratches,
leaks, incorrect labeling, contamination, or other obvious defects and report any concerns
immediately to the supervisor or quality representative. The role also includes maintaining
cleanliness in the despatch area, assisting with routine operational tasks, and supporting
efficient turnaround of customer orders.

Support final visual checks for visible damage or defects
Check for correct labeling and general product condition
Report quality concerns immediately to the supervisor
Maintain housekeeping and safe working conditions in the despatch area

Candidates should have an interest in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or general plant
operations. Previous work experience is not always required for this role, but any
exposure to a factory, warehouse, workshop, or physically active work environment would be
helpful. The intern should be willing to learn, take direction well, and work responsibly in an area
where product handling and safety are important.
The role requires basic literacy to identify labels and follow simple instructions, as well as the
physical ability to work on foot, assist with handling tasks, and wear required personal protective
equipment. A strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to visible quality issues are important
for success in this role.
