Under supervision, the Procurement Assistant may help with routine procurement tasks
such as preparing or tracking purchase requisitions, updating supplier or material records,
assisting with quote comparisons and following up on order status. The candidate may also support
the procurement team in communicating with internal departments to confirm material
requirements, delivery timelines, and documentation needs. The role requires careful attention
to detail and a willingness to learn the importance of accuracy in purchasing and supply chain
activities.
The candidate may also assist with filing, reporting, and maintaining records related to orders,
deliveries, pricing, and supplier documents. In a dual manufacturing environment, the role may
involve supporting procurement activities for raw materials, packaging, maintenance items,
indirect supplies, and plant services used in both steel and plastic production processes. The
candidate should be prepared to work across a range of tasks while following instructions and
maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Candidates should have an interest in procurement, supply chain, business administration,
logistics, or manufacturing operations. This internship is suitable for someone who is studying
toward or has recently completed a qualification in one of these areas. Previous work
experience is not always required, but any exposure to an office, warehouse, purchasing, or
industrial environment would be useful.
The role requires basic computer skills, good organization, and the ability to work with numbers,
documents, and routine administrative tasks. The intern should be dependable, willing to learn,
and comfortable working with different departments and priorities in a busy manufacturing
environment. A positive attitude and a strong sense of responsibility are important for success in
the role.
