The blow molding machine operator must wear and care for their personal protective equipment (PPE).
Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE. Ensure work area is clean and hazard-free.
Understand what Personal Protective Equipment is required when entering the blow molding machine work area.
Inspect finished products (every single article) for defects (100% Operator Inspection), ensuring compliance with quality standards. Perform routine checks and measurements.
Use Quality Measurement Tools (Vernier, Height Gauge, Scales, Light Inspection BOX)
Check that LEAK Testing Equipment is 100% functional. Use the test button every 15 minutes to confirm that the leak tester is operational. If not operational the Blow Molding Machine Operator must be able to notify his/her immediate supervisor for corrective action to be taken.
Understand the LEAK TEST samples (X3 OFF – Small hole, Big Hole ad V-Neck).
Record production information using SHOPWARE. Record Scrap, Down Time as and when it happens. Maintain accurate production records, including quantities produced, downtime, and quality issues.
Ensure that we are producing as per works order.
Ensure that products are packed according to a packing specification.
Complete Quality Check on quality control documents as per company quality schedule.
Set up extruder speeds on status and machine stops.
Activate parison length controller (where we have it on a machine) and use the “TEST” adjustment function when required as per shared schedules.
Start, operate, and shut down blow molding machines according to production schedules and safety standards.
Conduct basic machine maintenance and cleaning (Autonomous Maintenance). Identify and report mechanical issues or malfunctions to a production supervisor and when possible a maintenance team member.
Update Daily the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) Leader Standard Work (LSW) operator checklist.
Check machine material feeding hoppers. Monitor Polymer usage to prevent waste. Report any non-conforming situations to your immediate supervisor for corrective action to be taken. Eliminate LUMPS and waste of Raw Material during setup and running of blow molding machine.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality control, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Notify a material loaders when day bins, hoppers run empty.
Regrind all the rejected product before leaving your workstation.
• Stop production in the event of a safety hazard or major quality issue.
Adjust machine settings within defined parameters to maintain product quality and efficiency.
Reject defective products and escalate recurring quality issues to the supervisor.
Request maintenance support for equipment malfunctions.
Recommend improvements to machine operation or workflow to enhance productivity.
