The Mechanical Toolroom Assistant will support the Toolroom Department by assisting with the maintenance, repair, preparation, and management of tooling, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include supporting tooling maintenance, assisting with engineering drawings interpretation, participating in preventative maintenance activities, assisting artisans and toolmakers with daily activities, maintaining tooling inventory records, and supporting continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
Candidate must meet B-BBEE alignment
Must not be a full-time student
Must have not participated under the YES program for more than 8 months.
Must reside in PE
Diploma or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Advantageous · Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering · Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Mechanical Engineering) · Exposure to Toolmaking or Manufacturing Processes · CAD/CAM Exposure Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities Willingness to work in a manufacturing and workshop environment Exposure to AutoCAD, CAD/CAM, tooling and fixture knowledge, and manufacturing processes will be advantageous Driver’s licence and own transport will be advantageous
