EHS Intern
Health and Safety

The EHS Intern will support the Environment, Health and Safety Department by assisting with safety initiatives, inspections, compliance activities, environmental programmes, incident investigations, and employee awareness campaigns within a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include participating in safety inspections and audits, maintaining EHS records and compliance documentation, assisting with incident investigations and risk assessments, supporting environmental and sustainability initiatives, and contributing to safety awareness and training programmes.
Minimum Qualification
- Diploma in Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Management, or Occupational Health and Safety
YES Requirements
- Must be between the ages of 18 - 35
- Don't do ETI
- Must be B-BBEE aligned
- Must not be a full-time student
- Must not have participated in the YES programme for more than 8 months
- Must reside in Port Elizabeth
Advantageous
- Safety Officer Qualification
- SAMTRAC Qualification
- Advanced Diploma in Safety Management
- Environmental Management Qualification
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Good communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and conduct shop-floor inspections
- Exposure to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, risk assessments, incident investigations, Power BI, SAP, and legal compliance knowledge will be advantageous
- Driver’s license and own transport will be advantageous
