The Electrical Engineering Employee will support the Maintenance Department by assisting with electrical maintenance activities, troubleshooting equipment, participating in preventative maintenance programmes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key duties include:
Assisting with preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
Supporting electrical fault finding under supervision
Participating in equipment inspections and performance monitoring
Assisting with maintenance documentation and scheduling
Supporting technical projects, installations, and reading schematics
Participating in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Adhering to safety procedures, including lockout and isolation practices
Assisting with general departmental reporting and maintenance activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma / National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Advantageous
Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Electrical)
Trade-related exposure
Experience:
No prior work experience required
Suitable for recent graduates and YES Youth candidates seeking workplace exposure
Technical Skills:
Basic electrical theory
Ability to read technical drawings
Computer literacy (MS Office)
Advantageous: PLC, automation exposure, fault-finding, industrial maintenance exposure

Teamwork and communication skills
Initiative, adaptability, and professionalism
YES Requirements
Must be between ages 18 - 35
Don't do ETI
Must be BEE-aligned
Must not be a full-time student
Must have not participated in the YES programme for more than 8 months
Must reside in Port Elizabeth
