Facilities & Equipment Support

Assist in maintaining and improving mechanical systems, utilities, and building facilities (e.g., compressed air, water, and ventilation systems).

Support inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on plant equipment and infrastructure.

Conduct basic mechanical assembly, fitting, and fabrication tasks under supervision.

Monitor and record machine and facility performance to support reliability and capacity improvement.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

Assist with scheduled maintenance activities, lubrication, and condition checks on machinery.

Ensure all mechanical components, jigs, and tooling are clean, well-maintained, and stored correctly.

Support artisans during troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of mechanical breakdowns.

Participate in facility maintenance tasks such as painting, cleaning, and repair work to uphold safety and 5S standards.

Continuous Improvement & Reliability Projects

Contribute to capacity improvement and cost-reduction projects.

Support implementation of mechanical best practices, TPM, and 5S principles across the plant.

Assist with data collection for maintenance reports and process improvement initiatives.

Engage in the standardization of maintenance procedures and documentation.

Safety, Reporting & Communication

Report mechanical failures, oil leaks, unusual noises, and safety risks immediately to the Maintenance Engineer or team leader.

Follow all plant safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in all maintenance areas.

Support compliance with ISO, IATF 16949, and environmental health & safety standards.


N.Dip / N6 in Mechanical Engineering

Computer literate – MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Basic mechanical understanding and technical aptitude

Interest in facilities management and capacity improvement projects

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Must be between the ages of 18-35.
Must be unemployed.
Must not be a full time student.
Must not be part of any learnerships/apprenticeships or, internships.
Must not have previously participated in the YES Program for more than 8 months.
