Electrical Maintenance Assistant

Job Description

1. Housekeeping & General Support

• Clean and maintain machinery areas, removing shavings, dust, and debris from equipment.

• Maintain lubricant and oil levels for all machines in the tool room and production lines.

• Keep the maintenance workshop and tool room tidy and organized.

2. Production Support

• Monitor and refill lubrication units on all expanding, sizing, and Mazak machines.

• Check and maintain chillers, power pack oil levels, and other auxiliary systems.

• Support artisans with general maintenance and repair activities.

3. Electrical Maintenance Assistance

• Assist artisans with electrical-related maintenance tasks across the plant.

• Support troubleshooting on PLC-controlled systems and electrical panels.

• Perform basic wiring, connection checks, and component replacements under supervision.

• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and lock-out/tag-out standards during all work.

4. Reporting and Safety

• Immediately report abnormal noises, leaks, or malfunctions to the artisan or team leader.

• Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality standards as outlined in Tenneco’s plant policies and procedures.

Candidate Description

• Ndip: Electrical Engineering

• Ms Office Proficient

• Electrical background advantageous

Must be between the ages of 18-35.

Must be unemployed.

Must not be a full time student.

Must not be part of any learnerships/apprenticeships or, internships.

Must not have previously participated in the YES Program for more than 8 months.
